quotes Agreed Kootenaycycle, that situation would warrant discretion out of respect. I'm sure PB will have the follow-up story at some point considering how this article got so many peoples attention.

quotes Even more "mysterious" is how all comments saying there was a failure or crash are being moderated (censored). Why the need for censorship?

quotes I don't recall being specific about the form of information when I said "a trace of information on the internet". You did not miss anything in my comment, rather you added something in your comprehension the 3 short sentences I wrote, so please feel free to re-read at your leisure and try to avoid adding spurious information this time.

quotes I suspect if it went well, there would have been a trace of information available somewhere on the internet by now considering the amount of hype for an exciting event like this. I hope if this didn't execute as planned that the riders are safe and can try it again some time. This is pretty exciting stuff for the sport, especially for locals.

quotes Vote Ron Paul in 2012, or Chris Christie if he runs. Then you Americans might be able to salvage your future, and that of the rest of the civilized world on your updraft.

Estically, I agree that canopies are gay. That's why I like the toneau cover Looks better than a canopy, and still keeps things dry. They're also good for keeping things secure. I have a locking tailgate handle, so my box is totally secure.

I've looked at those North Shore racks, and they are look like the very best product on the market.

You've got 2 options. The first is to do like I did, and build a toneau cover for the truck bed, so that you've still got storage for gear. However, if storage isn't as important, the second option is to build an ABS rack that slides right over-top of your tailgate, so that the bikes don't rest directly on the tailgate. I've seen one before, and it looked very effective.

Also, those "base-plate looking things", are toilet flanges. They're what your toilet is bolted down to, except I've got them upside-down.

I'm still not 100% sure about my rig though. I've kept the rig "removable" (ie. with a retaining bolt drilled through the flange & pipe), since it's too tall for my garage. Consequently, it does have a wee bit of wiggle & play. Under light loads/smooth roads, it should be okay, but I'm not yet certain if it will stand up to heavy loads on shuttle roads. However, I figure I can either sinch it down with straps, or, I can also ad some support beams.
